It’s a proud moment for Nagpur to have city lawyer Mr. Sharad Arvid Bobde to be the new Chief Justice of India. He in city and has received a warm welcome and grand felicitation for him in Nagpur this Saturday evening in the Bombay High Court Premises in city. Ever since he took the pledge of the highest position in the legal system in the country, this was his maiden visit to his hometown.
His friend and family members have been waiting for his visit and it was a proud moment for them to felicitate the CJI of India who comes from their own city – Nagpur. The High Court Bar Association was quick to plan a felicitation meeting when they came to know about his visit to Nagpur. It was the majestic high court building that witnessed this grand event in the city to have Justice Borde here. While talking on the event, it was an emotional thank you message from Justice Bobde for honoring him in his city.
The dignitaries present at the occasion include the former CJI R M Lodha who was called the chief guest apart from the Supreme Court judge Justice Bhushan Gavai who presided the function. Justice Ravi Deshpande the Senior Administrative Judge of Nagpur bench was present along with the ex-SC judge Justice V S Sirpurkar too grace the occasion. The felicitation had called many more dignitaries from the legal fraternity including the sitting judges of Bombay High Court along with the benches of Aurangabad and Goa.
