City CP Assures No Curfew only Restriction on Movement
Ever since the announcement made by the Indian PM Mr. Modi for the 21 days lock down in the country, the panic seems to have strike the city as well. However, just later the PM has to tweet from his official Twitter handle stating that the lockdown is only posing restriction on the physical movement of people on the streets rather than blocking the facilities around the food and other stuff in the city and other places in the city hence the people should not panic.
Still the panic button has been pushed by hordes of people around the city as well, which made the City Commissioner of Police Dr. Updadhyay to implement the Section 2 of The Epidemic Diseases Act and provisions of The Disaster Management Act, which started the confusion among the citizens that the police has imposed curfew on the streets of the city, however, the CP reitrarated that it is just the restrictions posed on the movement of of people to avoid the spread of the diseases.
Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, the Commissioner of Police Nagpur while talking to the media made things clear that it is not a curfew but a restricted movement. The State Government has also notified the stricter enforcement of the lockdown all over the state till 31st March and now we see the Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) that prohibits the assembly of four people. Wit this all tne movement of people are tracked even in the case of emergency as people have to take a pass from the city police.
