Nagpur: Food and Drug Administration (FDA) minister name Rajendra Shingne, who was on a visit to Nagpur city on Saturday and asked his department to ensure that a possible covid-19 virus was detected.
Adequate oxygen supply and drug availability must be well maintained for the dreaded third wave. During a review meeting at Ravi Bhavan, Rajendra Shingne has also urged all officials to crack down on adulterated food items, especially in the backdrop of the current festive season.
Rajendra has released a video clip and through it has said that Shingne has already informed the FDA authorities about the oxygen production infrastructure, stocking, supply channels as well as the Directed to further focus on availability of very important anti-COVID-19 drugs like Remdesivir.

Rajendra Shingne has also said, “I have asked all the officers of FDA not only in the division of Nagpur district but also in many parts of the state to maintain oxygen supply and stock of all medicines in the hospital.
Rajendra Shingne has also reviewed the availability of the anti-covid-19 virus drugs as well as the stock of oxygen at the different centers.
Apart from COVID-19, Rajendra also took stock of the availability of anti-fungal drugs for mucormycosis and many other related diseases, which came in the wake of the second wave of covid in early 2021 this year.
Rajendra has also stressed upon the busting of various adulteration rackets involving milk and various milk products, mawa, edible oil and sweets during all the festive seasons.
Rajendra has also directed all the officers of the FDA to hold meetings with hoteliers, food manufacturers, restaurant owners and such entities to create awareness against adulterated products and various related laws.
Rajendra has also asked all the officers to ensure that the number of a raids and searches is increased.
Rajendra has also said that we are aware of the availability of manpower and all existing facilities in different units of FDA. Will definitely address the issue of vacancies as well.
