HC Goes Tough on Government on ZP School’s condition

In  a recent case hearing about the Zilla Parishad or government school the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has gone tough in its words giving strict warning to reform the schools or face the contempt of the court. The court while expressing its concern over the schools found in the rural areas of Nagpur and places like Buldhana and Gadhchiroli, the court went tough on the government giving two options – either improve the conditions or face the punishment the court has for them.

A division of court comprising of judges like Justice Ravi Deshpande and Milind Jadhav said that there are so many government departments that can easily render facilities and other things to the school but they are not willing to support them. The court then said that the schools are in a very pathetic state and that they would need a proper reformation on facilities like drinking water, toilet and many more things that should be offered to them.

The court then ordered to form a special forum that would take care of the schools reformation and report the matter to the concerned. The judges said that the government officials should take a notice on these issues and act on time as this comes under their constitutional duties which they have to deliver time and again for the future of the kids. It also said that the government officials should ensure that the school should have basic hygiene and cleanliness level inside the premises. This warning came when a PIL was filed by HCBA who tried to expose the plight of ZP schools.
