The lives of residents at Vaishno Devi apartments located in the Baji Prabhu Nagar, Ram Nagar seems to be not less than a hell. All thanks to sewer leakage in the area that have added woes to the residents. Ironically, this problem has been there since July 2019 when the parking area of the apartment was seen flooded with the sewer water. Despite the lot many complaints to the concerned department at Dharampeth Zone, the official seems to be busy in their own life.
As per reports, the sewage water was first noticed overflowing since the last week of July. The monsoon rains further created a huge problem taking it to reach 2 to 3 inches high. Soon the residents started experiencing the foul smell from the basement, which has further become the breeding area for mosquitoes as that water has remained stagnant in the area. This has been the story every year when the residents witness a similar problem. The filth collected beneath the gutter line close to the apartment overflows during the monsoon season.
The issues like waterlogging later make things bad to worse giving several health issues to the residents. The residents of the apartment have visited the office of NMC Dharampeth zone too often but every time they complain they only gett assurance and no action. It seems that the Swach Bharat Mission, a cleanliness drive initiated by the PM Modi seems to be on paper as little has been done in this matter. However, DP Tembekar the Zonal Health office claims that he has not received any complaint from the residents. He then took some action to make things better.
