Coronavirus cases cross 4,000 mark, Vidarbha saw 7 deaths

Most of the corona deaths were accidental findings. Because covid patients had reached hospitals for treatment of some other disease and then got tested positive for coronavirus during hospitalization.

Nagpur: While the number of new cases is breaking records every day in the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, On the other hand, on Sunday, the number of casualties in the new year has also exceeded the earlier high level. A total of 7 people infected with corona have died in Vidarbha in the last 24 hours.

Most of the corona deaths were accidental findings. Because covid patients had reached hospitals for treatment of some other disease and then got tested positive for coronavirus during hospitalization. 3 such deaths have happened in Nagpur, While there have been 2 deaths each in Amravati and Akola.

Altogether 11 districts of Vidarbha region have together registered 4,264 new cases of covid, Which is the highest in the new year and so far the third wave of covid. Washim, Nagpur, Gondia, Buldhana, and Yavatmal have reported more than 20% test positivity.

In total, about 20,538 patients are still undergoing treatment in this region. Most of them are in home isolation and either have no symptoms or have mild symptoms which can be easily treated at home. While more than 11,000 patients are under treatment in Nagpur, five other districts – Buldhana, Wardha, Akola, Chandrapur, and Amravati have more than 1,000 under treatment. Some hospital beds are still vacant in all these districts.

Akola: An 84-year-old man resident of Murtijapur, who was admitted to GMCH Akola in a critical condition on the date of January 11, has died on January 15. His test was coronavirus positive during treatment. Overall, the toll of coronavirus in district Akola has reached 1,145. For the fourth consecutive day in the district, 291 new covid cases have come out with 200. A total of 90 patients have been cured in a single day. At present, 1,532 patients of covid are undergoing treatment in the district.

Buldhana: Out of 1,280 tests conducted, 217 new cases have been found in Buldhana. This means that around 20.5% of the tests were positive. A total of 33 patients have been cured in the district. At present 1,055 patients of covid are undergoing treatment.

Washim: A total of 62 new covid cases have been reported in this district on Sunday. While 40 patients have been cured. At present, 302 patients are being treated in Washim.

Gondia: In the last 24 hours, out of 919 tests, a total of 260 new covid cases have come out. This has taken the caseload to 42,489. With 77 patients getting cured in the district during the day, a total of 40,787 have been cured.

Bhandara: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,484 tests have been done in Bhandara, Out of which 177 are covid positive. A total of 15 patients have been cured.

Gadchiroli: Out of 724 investigation reports received in the district on Sunday, a total of 118 reports have come positive. With the recovery of 22 covid patients during the day, 599 covid patients are currently being treated in the district.

Amravati: Two people have died in the city in fifty-six days of the death toll due to corona on Sunday. Due to which the death toll has increased to 1,570.

Yavatmal: This district has not reported any coronavirus death in the last 24 hours, But the increase has continued with 157 (104 men and 53 women) testing positive on Sunday as well. There are 1,709 coronavirus beds available in Yavatmal.

Wardha: This district has crossed 1,000 mark of active covid cases, In which 184 tests of covid were tested positive for covid infection out of 711 tests, The recovery and caseload stand at 48,365 and 50,753 respectively.

Chandrapur: A total of 268 persons have tested positive for coronavirus out of 1,532 samples during the last 24 hours in this district. 106 have also been cured on Sunday. The day has again been casualty free in the district. coronavirus caseload has increased to 90,727, Which includes 1,545 deaths and 87,686 recoveries. So far a total of 8,20,597 samples have been tested and out of them 7,28,362 have tested covid negative.
