35-year-old man killed in tiger attack, Full grown tiger dies in Tadoba

On Saturday evening, as usual, the victim was taking his cattle for grazing in the forest adjacent to the farm.

Chandrapur: A man from Vilam village of Nagbhid tehsil was killed by a tiger on Saturday evening. The deceased person has been identified as Kishor Waghmare (35). The body of the deceased was found on Sunday morning in compartment number 631 of the protected forest under the Mindhala beat of Nagbhid range.

On Saturday evening, as usual, the victim was taking his cattle for grazing in the forest adjacent to the farm. When Kishor Waghmare did not return home till late in the night, his family members approached the Nagbhid RFO office for the help of forest officials.

Then till late night, the forest department team searched the area, but Kishor Waghmare could not be found at all. When the search operation started again in the morning, then the body of the deceased was found in the forest. This tiger had eaten the lower part of the victim’s body. And the forest workers have provided an ex-gratia amount of about 20 thousand rupees to the family members of the victim.

In the same year, this is the fourth incident of a human being killed in a tiger attack in the district. And a total of 53 people were killed in the man-animal conflict in Chandrapur last year.

Full grown tiger dies in Tadoba

Chandrapur: A full-grown tiger has been found dead in the forest near Chak Nimbala under the Chandrapur (buffer) range of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR).

In the preliminary investigation, it has been learned that the cat has succumbed to injuries sustained during the fight with another tiger.

This is the sixth death of a tiger in the Chandrapur district this year. The body was also found by the patrolling team in the evening.

Sources have also told that there were many injury marks on the body. A team headed by the Round Officer has reached the spot and has also taken the dead bodies in their possession. Sources have also told that about a week ago the tiger was seen limping in the forest and the same was being continuously monitored. This tiger had a very deep wound on its forehead near the eye.

RFO, Chandrapur (Buffer) Range, Swati Mhaiskar has also said that the tiger had areas adjacent to Moharli (Buffer) and Chandrapur (Buffer) Ranges. And then after the formalities, the body of the tiger has been taken to the Transit Treatment Center (TTC) of Chandrapur, and a post-mortem will be done on Monday morning.
