Beware of traffic snarls caused by potholes and delays in response of concerned authorities

Nagpur: Aware of the traffic jams caused by potholes and the considerable delay in the response of the concerned authorities, the traffic police of Nagpur has taken the lead in repairing the bad potholes.

Police officials are also using NMC (Nagpur Municipal Corporation) Instapatcher and Jetpatcher machines to level these bad roads across the city. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sarang Awad has said that for the past several days, traffic police personnel of about 10 traffic zones are working in tandem with the machinery of Nagpur Municipal Corporation to repair the bad stretches of road across the city.

In response to a question, the Sarang has said that they are concentrating on major routes. Sarang has also said that most of the complaints related to potholes in the road were received with the help of WhatsApp and social media. And citizens can contact the traffic police of Nagpur with the help of their social media handles and WhatsApp numbers to inform them about these bad roads, which they will repair with the help of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.

The office of Sarang Traffic in Civil Lines had also submitted a list of about 75 potholed roads to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. In which a demand was made to draw their attention to repair them without any delay.

Repaired 9,000 Road Potholes

The roads under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi and Sadar traffic areas were indeed in very poor condition, In which respectively 12 and 13 had become uneven due to bad pits. Similarly, there are 9 road patches under the Indora zone, 7-7 in Kamptee and Sonegaon traffic zones, 6 bad stretches under MIDC and Lakkarganj traffic zones, while Cotton Market and Ajni zones have identified 5 bad stretches.

The Traffic Police has stated that the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has spared 2 machines – Instapatcher and Jetpatcher – along with manpower and is also attending to complaints related to potholes being sent by the Traffic Police.

Motorists have welcomed the action of the traffic police but demanded that if any accident occurs due to the damaged road So that the owner of these roads should also face punishment as the police have punished the traffic violators.

How many potholes or bad patches were repaired in a week with the help of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, The traffic police do not have any data about it in any way at all. So far in this calendar year, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has claimed to have repaired more than 9,000 road potholes across the city. But due to poor repair work, most of the roads in this city remain very rough. And the problem of back pain has also increased due to the work of filling the high pothole of the road. Automobile mechanics have said that the repair of vehicles has also increased manifold.
