For the Nagpur city, it is a proud moment to see the leggy lass Ritika Thaker winning the West Zone Inter-State Badminton Championship, which was held in Goa recently. It was on Friday when she bagged the title for the under 19 category while playing for the women’s double finals, which she played against the ladies Shenan Christian and Dipti Kuity. She won the title by 21/7 and 21/15 to bag the championship.
With her precise netplay, she and her partner were able to defy the powerful smashes to win the tournament. She and her partner from the state did not give any chance to the opponents to bag the second title in the said tournament. Winning the title, she was delighted to share her happiness with the media.
She said that she was pleased and happy with her and her partner’s performance on the netplay that helped her to bag the title. With this win, she can enter into the nationals for both the single and double categories. She was also pleased to keep their record straight and for not losing a single match both at the zonal and the state level for the past few years.
