In the recent raid of Income Tax department in the city on the different driving schools, a couple of schools for drivers have come into its scanner. As per reports, there seemed some invasion of GST and Service Tax as carried out by the known Motor Driving Schools in the city. As per reports, the raids leading to searches were carried out by the officers of DGGI, Nagpur Zonal Unit on different premises of a few driving schools, which include the following:
These include Wazalwar Driving School Pvt. Ltd located at Shivaji Nagar, Desai Driving School located at Jiwan Akshay Society, Shree Driving School, Gadge Maharaj Dharamshala located at Medical Chowk and so one was put under the scanner. As per reports, these driving schools were given the suggestions to clear their tax dues and some of them have been defaulting since their inception with a few taking a toll to more 20 years or so since when they took the registration.
Even they had issues with their receipt to a great extent and some of these are accounted by these entities in the statutory records as seen in their Income Tax returns and several other financial documents. As per reports, there seems to be too much of mess and they have been having squeezing the Taxable value of over Rs. 10 Crore with their entities in just the last 5 years. These include both the GST and Service Tax that goes to around Rs. 1.86 Crore for the above said groups.
