Nagpur: In protest against the decision to change the examination pattern which will be implemented from July 2023, MPSC candidates have staged a sit-in in front of the District Collector’s office on Friday.
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Indian National Congress (INC) led by MLC Abhijeet Wanjari, has also led the protest.
“In the time of the Coronavirus, students have studied very hard for the exams following the very old pattern. And out of nowhere, the exam pattern has been changed from MCQ to descriptive,” MLC Abhijeet Wanjari said.
He then added, “We are not at all saying that descriptive patterns should never be implemented at all. It should be made absolutely regular from 2025 so that students get enough time to become very familiar with it.”
Students raised slogans like ‘Maharashtra sarkar hai hai’ and ‘Shinde sarkar murdabad’
As per the plan, a delegation was to go inside the office to present the Statement of Purpose (SOP) to District Collector Vipin Itankar, but surprisingly, The latter, who was also going out for work, came out of his car and also accepted the statement of purpose.
One of the protesters even said, “This is sheer injustice. The pattern was changed in July 2022 but we are studying according to very old last almost 2 years because the exam was postponed due to Coronavirus.”
“We want the government to withdraw this decision and implement the new exam pattern in 2025,” the protestor said.
Students also raised slogans like ‘Maharashtra sarkar hai hai’ and ‘Shinde sarkar murdabad’ at the collector’s office. About 50-60 students were also present.
