Nagpur Metro All Set to Run at 80 km / h: Awaiting Approval from Railway Board
As we see the Nagpur Maha Metro is currently running between Sitabuldi to Khapri, it seems to take additional time with its slow speed. However, as per the recent buzz, the city metro running on the same lines have been pushed forward for its speed that would now run at the speed of 80 Km per hour. The officials who have been taking care of the same have even obtained the certificate from the Railway Board to Maha Metro Nagpur.
By having this certificate, the speed would increase for the metro on the same line to a good extent thus reducing the travel time between the said stations. As per reports, the RDSO or the Research Design and Standard Organization seemed to have conducted an oscillation test as well a couple of days before. With this test, the officials were able to carry 4,000 bags of sand over the subway car that weighs for 970 passengers. The total weight of these sacks was around 63 tonnes that helped the test to pass the metro moving on the Sitabuldi -Khapri route.
As per reports, the test was carried out over the brackets of the DMC-A First Bogie, DMC-B First Bogie, TC First Bogie along with the speed sensor and the control systems that seemed to have been installed. The RDSO team was seen installing the sensors in different parts of the vehicle that seems to have been collected from this information. With this test, certain standards and facilities for the passengers were tested. These include the ridership index and the emergency brake system. The reports have been sent out to the higher officials that indicate that the metro is now competent enough to take 80 km per hour and now it awaits the green signal from them.
