Some elements instigated riots in Amravati: Sharad Pawar

Many elements or parties are provoking this riot too much by keeping an eye on upcoming elections.

Nagpur: Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar asked whether there was any need in any way to incite violence in district Amaravati after the alleged riots in Tripura. It is also very doubtful whether there was violence in many parts of Tripura or not and hence why there were violent activities in district Amaravati.

He had addressed the press conference only after this program of Nag-Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce at Hotel Center Point located in Ramdaspeth here on Wednesday. Sharad has also said that many elements or parties are provoking this riots too much by keeping an eye on this upcoming elections. He has also said that there is absolutely no need to go deep on this. He never talked about it before taking stock of the situation. Many people here take the law into their own hands.

The issue of this violence is very sensitive. I had also personally asked the Home Minister to go to this violence affected areas and make efforts to completely end these ongoing riots in district Amravati. In response to the question, Sharad also said that it would not be fair to say that the Ministry of Home Affairs was a complete failure in view of these riots. The government cannot give 100% financial help to the shopkeepers affected by this riot at all. But it will think how much help can be done to these people.

Necessary Action Against Them

In response to a question regarding the ban on Raza Academy, the NCP chief has said that this government should thoroughly investigate the activities of such organizations and then take necessary action against them. Regarding the statement made by famous actress Kangana about Mahatma Gandhi, Sharad also said that Mahatma Gandhi has earned respect all over the world and then such statements should also be avoided.

Sharad has also said that Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis should not take extreme steps by giving statements.

Both former ministers, Dilip Pankule, Prakash Gajbhiye, Rameshchandra Bang, Subodh Mohite, Praful Patel, former Civil Aviation Minister, District President of NCP, Former Legislator, Duneshwar Pethe, and others were sitting on this platform.
