The former VC (Vice Chancellor) Dr. Madhusudan Anant Chansarkar has passed away who has been the member of Executive Committee of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra. He was in Houston, Texas, US on 19th May and he was 90 years of age. He was VC of Nagpur University during the term – 1985 to 1988. Before becoming the VC, Dr. Chansarkar was also a member of the Executive Committee of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur. He was also a member of the Central Board of Workers Education (CBWE).
The former VC has survived with his wife Kumudini along with two sons – Dinesh and Mangresh along with one daughter Dr. Leena Sonwalkar. They all are based in the US along with a number of other relatives in India. The last rites were carried out on Thursday at Texas and informed his daughter in law Namrata Chansarkar. Talking about the former VC, he was also known as an educationist and economist.
He has worked with various assignments including Chief Technical Advisor in South Korea, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Philippines. He also served as Chief Technical Advisor at Nigeria. He has been involved in various projects, which were implemented by the International Labour Organisation and supported by the UN.
