NMC Sets Guidelines for Ganpati Festival
As the days for Ganpati festival comes close, we see the civic body getting active on it. It will have some set of rules to be followed during the Ganesh Festival in the city. The body is going to stick to the state government guidelines which clearly says to avoid the immersion of idols this year. Talking about the same, the NMC Chief, Mr. Tukarm Mundhe said to the local newspaper The Hitavada that in tough times like COVID 19, when we see the cases are increasing, it is no good idea to call people for mass gathering.
The festival of Ganesh Utsav is of mass gathering and this year it has to be avoided by keeping things simple. While talking about the same, he said that people should follow the wisdom of God by avoiding the mass gathering in religious places and other areas. In order to stay safe, they are supposed to avoid the crowd and thus strictly observe the social distancing norms and wearing of the masks as well.
When asked what more set of rules he is going to set for people, he said he will follow the directions received from the state government. The directives have been received on 11th July. He said people should act with responsibility and respect to the restraint time during the COVID 19 time. SInce past few years, we have seen the civic body coming out with water tanks near the immersing points like Amjazari and other places to avoid the water pollution. The ten days festival will be celebrated but by following the norms clarified the NMC Chief.
