Many students in the age group of 12 to 18 years also got their first job during the last semester and are now due for another.

Nagpur: The district administration has decided to give the second dose of coronavirus vaccine to the students before the start of the new academic session. For this, the ‘Ghar-Ghar Dastak 2.0’ campaign, which was started about a week ago, is targeting the child age group as a priority. The aim is to start the next session of schools and colleges with such students who have already been fully vaccinated.

Even after the sudden increase in the number of Coronavirus cases, District Collector R Vimala has also held a review meeting of the ‘Ghar-Ghar Dastak 2.0’ program and had also issued instructions to the health officials to proceed.

Vimala said that health workers will also come from door to door with the vaccine. They also only want the cooperation of the people. Many college students have not yet received the second dose at all. They will first make it available to the deserving youth only. The third dose is also free for about 60 residents and they will be given a booster at home.

Many people in the age group of 18-59 are still getting their second dose of the Coronavirus vaccine. All such people will be included in this campaign.

“Schools should also cooperate with the health department to ensure that all students are vaccinated as soon as the new session begins. The drive will be intensified once the schools reopen,” said District Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar.

District Civil Surgeon Dr. Madhuri Thorat had also said the same thing that although in the last three-four days in Nagpur The number of covid patients is increasing, no one has needed to be admitted to the hospital. “We are not putting too much emphasis on getting all Covid positive patients admitted to hospitals. Most of them do not have any symptoms at all and because of this, home isolation is allowed. I also appeal to people to get tested if you have symptoms.” she said.
