Chandrapur: LCB has arrested two accused of double murder. Who was absconding after being released on parole almost nine years ago. Life imprisonment convicts Sunil Sakharkar and Nago Redlawar have been arrested from Pardi village of Tehsil of Korpana on the basis of intelligence inputs.
Nago was running a dhaba (a roadside eatery) at Tadali T-point, Where her son-in-law Sunil has a pan-kiosk.
The duo, along with Nago wife Shanaz, had killed their activist Chandu Kamble and his wife with cold blood with a knife after a heated argument on August 17, 2011. And then Chandu was demanding his pending salary of about three months.
Along with this, all three accused had been arrested and then later they were also convicted. And these accused were sentenced to life imprisonment for committing double murder. However, after they were released on parole on the date of 5 May 2013, Nago and Sunil fled. And then did not return to the jail of Nagpur, where he was serving a life sentence.
Handed over to Ghugus police
The Chandrapur and Ghugus police were looking for these accused for almost nine years. But nothing was of any use.
Meanwhile, local crime branch PSI had received tip-off about absconding accused residing with changed names and identities in Ponala village of Adilabad district of Telangana. On getting this information, SP Arvind Salve sent PSI Kapade along with the team to arrest him. The detective had further obtained intelligence about the arrival of the guilty couple in Pardi village of neighboring Korpana tehsil.
Under this, a trap was laid for the accused and both the culprits have been arrested. It has also been found in this investigation that Sunil Sakharkar changed his name to Sunil Madavi and Nago had changed his name to Nagesh Madavi. And with this changed identity was living in Punala village of Adilabad district.
Both the arrested accused have been handed over to the Ghugus police for further action.
